Machinery Safety (CMSE)
TÜV NORD Certified Machinery Safety Expert qualification: risk assessments to ISO 12100, CE-marking under EU 2023/1230, safeguarding reviews, and audits for construction, solar, and electronics manufacturers.
What This Service Covers
KaM Auto holds the TÜV NORD Certified Machinery Safety Expert (CMSE) qualification, a four-year internationally recognised credential covering the full machinery-safety lifecycle, from legislation and risk assessment through to safeguarding and the functional safety of control systems. EU Regulation 2023/1230 replaces the Machinery Directive and applies from January 2027, bringing stricter compliance, digital documentation, and cybersecurity requirements for machinery placed on the EU market. KaM Auto's CMSE qualification spans the construction, solar, and electronics sectors, the same EU regulatory terrain as its existing type approval and sustainability work, enabling machinery risk assessments, CE-marking technical files, safeguarding reviews, functional-safety assessments, and training to be delivered in-house rather than through an external specialist.

How We Work
Consultation and Scope Review
We review your machinery, intended use, and target market to identify which regulations and harmonised standards apply under EU Regulation 2023/1230.
Preliminary Gap Analysis
Current design and documentation is reviewed against EU Machinery Regulation requirements, identifying what is already in place and what needs to be added or modified.
Risk Assessment (ISO 12100)
A structured risk assessment is carried out in accordance with ISO 12100, documenting hazards, risk levels, and the mitigation measures applied at each stage.
Safeguarding and Electrical Safety Review
Mechanical guarding, safety components, and electrical safety are assessed against applicable harmonised standards including EN ISO 13857 and EN ISO 14119.
Functional Safety Assessment
Safety-related control systems are reviewed and documented against EN ISO 13849 or IEC 62061 as appropriate for the control system architecture in use.
CE-Marking Technical File
The full technical file is compiled to EU 2023/1230 requirements: risk assessment report, technical drawings, conformity declarations, and the digital documentation the Regulation requires.
Handover and Training
The completed CE-marking file and declaration of conformity are delivered. Optional follow-on training for your engineering and compliance team is available on request.
